Gratitude challenge: week one.

I was recently wasting time browsing Pinterest,  and I came across a list of writing prompts for a year long gratitude challenge.  Each week is a new topic or question, things you're grateful for, and why.  In an effort to stay positive, I decided to tackle this project with open arms and an open mind.  The questions and topics are pretty simple, so feel free to join in below in the comments, if you'd like!

Week 1:  Why start this challenge?

I decided to start this challenge as a way to remember all of the good in my life.  This year, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that life is very, very short.  In fact, I believe it is too short to waste it on complaining or feeling dissatisfied.  The quote above has been weighing on my mind quite heavily.  In this (stupidly) competitive world of comparison, it can be hard to remember to feel grateful for what you have, where you're at, or who you are.  Rather than focusing on what I don't have, or wish I could have, I have been trying to make a conscious effort to be thankful for all that I am blessed with.  I don't think we need to be unrealistic; I've said it before, life is messy and it can be hard, but overall, I really believe the majority of us just forget or are ignorant of how well-off we truly are.  That's why I'm starting this challenge; I never want to forget to focus on the good.
