October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
Today specifically, is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
Today specifically, is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
Today, this month, gives bereaved parents a chance to freely speak out about their losses,
to remember their children, the missing pieces of their hearts.
The world may see today and this month, and remember our children, but we
remember them daily. Our hearts ache for them, and although we go on living,
we never stop missing them. So although we have this designated
time to grieve publicly, and to raise awareness, let's
try to remember: grief never ends.
One in four women will experience a pregnancy or infant loss in her lifetime.
They do no forget, they should not grieve in silence.
We never forget. We are impacted and permanently shifted,
our hearts forever imprinted with our children's names.
Today the world recognizes pregnancy and infant loss.
I recognize it daily, because it has become part of who I am.
Our son, Emmett Austin Langford, is a permanent part of who we are.
He is the missing piece that we will long for, as long as we are alive.
Dear Emmett,
I do not forget you; I cannot forget you.
Even though you're no longer here, I carry you in my heart still.
I miss you everyday, and cannot wait to see you again.
Until then, I will do my best to keep your memory alive, and to
be a voice for the other mama's and daddy's who have
grieved their children in silence.
I will look at the sun today, and remember you.
I will remember your sweet spirit.
I will try to dwell on the peace you now feel.
I'll not stop wishing you were still with us, in my arms,
but I will hold fast onto the hope that we will be reunited.
I love you forever, baby boy.
Love,
Mama
