About

Hello, and welcome!

My name is Sara.  My husband, Ryan, and I lost our first child, Emmett on February 25, 2015, when I was about 38 weeks pregnant.  You can read our full story here.

A bit about me…I grew up on the East side of Detroit.  After Ryan and I got married, I moved to southeast Michigan, and then in summer of 2014, we moved to the Jackson area.  We currently reside here with our cat, Mike.  Just a few short months after Emmett passed, we were thrilled to discover we were expecting again.  Our daughter was born is due in January of 2016! You can read more about her here. Later that year, we moved (again - phew) to the east side of Michigan, and we are currently living in the metro Detroit area.

I began this blog shortly after losing our son, Emmett.  It's a place where messy, broken people (like myself), can come and be real.  I want to spread love, and hope.  I want to help others like me, people who are hurting, and show them that even though we have bad days, we can have good days.  We can have hope.

This year (2017), things on the blog have shifted.  This is just my little outlet space, where I come to be creative, talk about things I love, and share some of my life - what it looks like to continue on after A Great and Terrible Loss.

My life is messy, beautiful, crazy, fun; I wouldn't trade it for the world.
